The Cheyenne VA Medical Center is seeking a dynamic full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible General Surgeon to join our surgical service team as staff General Surgeon. As one of two staff General Surgeons, the incumbent is accountable to the Chief, Surgery Department for assuring the most effective delivery of care in general surgery, while meeting and exceeding compliance standards. General Surgery Core Clinical Privileges include performance of surgical procedures, and patient admission and discharges, consultation, evaluation, and treatment to manage various conditions, illnesses, and injuries within the scope of General Surgery.

Incumbent will conduct weekly clinics, answer inpatient and outpatient consultations, make referrals, recommendations for treatment and/or medication, and follow care of veteran patients experiencing general surgical problems. The incumbent must be willing to perform major and minor general surgery procedures. Some nights, weekend, and holiday call required. As part of the Surgical Service Line Team, the incumbent will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on excellence, productivity, and quality patient outcomes.
